Morgan Stanley Investment Management is searching for a Business Strategy Associate to provide strategic support to the Global Distribution organization. The organization has a total population of approximately 150 employees. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and play a leadership role in strategic planning and financial management initiatives within the Global Sales group. Essential Function Strategize with the team on business and financial matters for the division Communicate across functional areas of the firm including investment teams, distribution management, product management, marketing, legal and operations to ensure seamless execution of both client and internal requests Work closely with finance in budget preparation and on-going management to targets and goals Monitor expenditures and cost containment efforts Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews and presentations Facilitate and implement strategic initiatives in an effort to grow and scale MSIM's distribution effort Assist with marketing materials, including sales presentations, customized client-specific pitch books, and product performance analyses Analyze competitive landscape to understand product positioning Identify new business opportunities using third-party databases Work closely with other key MSIM contacts in all global offices Identify and implement special projects that will enhance overall productivity for the group Commercial Impact Proactively identifies opportunities to improve functions with significant impact across departments Identifies opportunities for change, and implements initiatives to improve processes Is a thought leader; may be involved at senior levels and with the BU in developing the planning, strategy and high level solutions for the business Engages stakeholders in the decision-making process and establishes clear and measurable goals (and metrics) by which to track and monitor progress Qualifications: Requirements and Attributes Experience and knowledge of Investment Management business and practices Undergraduate degree required; with 3-5 years of experience Professional maturity, self-confidence, decisiveness and outstanding business judgement Ability to work effectively with professionals at all levels within Morgan Stanley Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong, detailed financial and analytical skills Ability to lead multiple projects/processes at the same time, without close supervision Proven ability to work across global departments to influence others and build strong relationships Demonstrated leadership in setting strategy and driving an agenda Strong people and process management skills Ability to delegate effectively and manage delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives Ability to work independently and possess a strong sense of accountability/ownership Ability to use desktop tools to develop presentations for senior management (i.e., Excel & PowerPoint) Knowledge of (CRM) and Tableau is a plus Investment Management Distribution Business Associate
